Term 1
Introduction:
My name is Riccardo and I am from Italy. I am a student in Year 9C in Emirates International School Meadows, this blog will be a process journal to record all the tasks i have completed this year. I am originally from Milan, Italy and i moved to Dubai when i was almost 2 years old. I have an Older brother, Federico, in year 12. I also have a younger sister, Viola, in year 5. I have been in this school since KG1 and i've been in Dubai since the end of 2005. I was born on January 19th 2004 and I am currently 13 years old. I enjoy playing Video Games and watching YouTube in my spare time and my favorite subject is Drama.

Criteria A:
Criteria A, Inquiring and Analysing, is all about researching and finding out information on how a product can be changed for the best. In this step you will need to, Identify a product that could be modified to make it better, and then briefly run through said design.
Criteria B:
Criteria B, Developing Ideas, you will need to think up exactly how you are going to make your design, into a reality. You will need to go over, in more depth, your design brief and turn it into a design specification. You will also need to create a design sketch and explore further possibilities to create your product.
Criteria C:
Criteria C, Creating the Solution, is all about building your product. In this step, you will need to take action and put your product into effect. You will need to construct a plan on how to do so and follow it to create your product, you will also need to justify any changes that may have been made.
Criteria D:
Criteria D, Evaluating, is all about reflecting on your product and testing it. In this step, you will need to think of ways to test your product and see if those ways worked, or if you need to try other methods. If those ways worked you will then need to reflect on if your product worked and ways it could have been improved.

Design Situation:
The problem is that children are littering in breaks because they don't want to stand up, go to the bin and throw it away. This is a safety hazard for children and animals. For animals because birds could swoop down and try to eat the plastic off of the floor and die. This is a hazard for children as well because they could slip on a piece of rubbish and hit the corner of a bench with their head which could seriously hurt them. This is a problem that is occurring in breaks at school on the playground. This could be because there are not enough bins around and kids get lazy and don't want to stand up and walk to throw it in a bit a few meters away.

Design Specification:
A lot of children litter nowadays and it could be due to many reasons. The first reason is that there aren't enough bins. If there aren't enough bins in the play ground then kids cannot find any bins so they just leave their mess on the floor. A second reason could be that they don't know that littering is harmful. Because of this, I will create a song and a music video on Scratch to teach kids not to litter. I will use Garage Band to make the music and think of the lyrics, I will use my Gaming headset to record the lyrics, because it has a really good microphone, and I will make an eye-catching music video on scratch and put it all together there.

Final Decision:
I decided to go with design sketch A as it is more appealing for my audience. My target audience is little kids and i think they will find more enjoyment out of a rap than an educational video. The beat will be uplifting and the lyrics will be kid friendly and about littering. I decided to go with a rap as i believe that kids will remember it more than just an educational video about littering as the song will be stuck in their head.Strand 4:
To create the product, I will need 3 softwares. Microsoft Word, Scratch and GarageBand. I will need Microsoft Word to write down and think up lyrics for my kid-friendly rap about littering, I will need GarageBand to create the beat behind the song for my rap and finally, I will need Scratch to create the music video for my rap so that it will be ready to present.

ReplyDeletefor the Criterion A, you need to the SWOT analysis for a group of similar products. After that you need to develop the design brief, which presents the analysis of relevant research.
For the Criterion B, design specification for every scene in animation is necessary. You need to present chosen design and outline the reasons for its selection with reference to the design specification.
